Role of Media in Democracy

"Media must work for public.... not for publicity"

Press and Media is considered as the fourth pillar of democracy. It plays very important role in democracy. Nothing can escape from this third eye so the foul practices can be controlled. People's welfare and interest is the primary priority of this sector in the age of globalization.

Today, the pictures seems somewhat different especially in the country like India. Everything all around have become very tough to live with. People have lost their faith in democracy and the system. The media is supposed to be the protector of the democracy, it has lost its credibility. The media houses are seen under the impression of some parties. The uniqueness and honest functionality remains into the books. Public interests many times are sacrificed for some frivolous gains. The people are not ready to believe on anything or anybody. The bias views and inclination is visible to people and they are adamant for their stand besides huge criticism.

This situation is surely not in favor of the healthy democracy where people and their interest should be the utmost priority.

"Wise can understand the essence."
