It is very apt in the case of interview that ' Practice makes man perfect' To be excellent in facing successful interview needs enough practice in advance. It is very important to have appropriate preparation and enough practice. Interview is one of the most important types of formal communications. One needs consistant practice to excel in facing successful interview. Interviews are organised for different purposes on different occasions. Good interviews are the opportunities for the interviewers as well as to the interviewees. Both needs proper preparation for making it successful.
An interview is the conversation between two people where questions are asked by the interviewer to seek information from the interviewees. This is a formal meeting where a person or a group of persons questions, consult or evaluate the other person for certain purpose. Interviews are generally in face-to-face and in oral. There are various purposes of the interviews conducted in the organisation.
There are different types of interviews:
1. Job/ Employment/ Selection Interviews: These interviews are conducted to check the suitability of the candidates to be recruited by the organisation. The Eligible candidates are called for search types of interviews where the panel of interviewers test the candidates for the required knowledge and skills.
2. Appraisal Interviews:
These interviews are conducted for the periodical assessments of the employees into their organisation. This is also done through self assessment forms and assessment by the supervisors. These interviews are conducted to check the performance of the employees and to test their attitude.
3. Mock Interviews:
Mock interview is an emulation of interview for the practice purposes. These interviews are tried to be real as actual interviews to give proper practice to the learners especially for thosee who you are preparing for the competitive examination.
4. Telephonic Interviews:
These interviews are hailed to do the preliminary assessment of the candidates. The candidayes can be shortlisted through telephonic interviews to be called for the the actual interview. These interviews help to save time and efforts of the organisations in the process of recruiting employees.
Preparation for the interviewers
Interviews is the extra formal situation for both interviewer and the interviewee. The interview was are also required to have proper preparation to conduct good interviews. Interviews are the occasion where both the parties judges each other through their communication. The reputation of the organisation is is exposed through to the interviews therefore the organisations are also very much concerned abpit the success of the interviews.
